DR. TAFFY
Money Talks
Congratulations to all those engaged couples. I am Dr. Taffy Wagner, you’re money and marriage advocate, and today I want us to have a little bit of fun while I talk with the brides and ask them some questions. Get your pen and paper ready, because the rules are going to be: write down the letter D or the letter C, because the question is “Are you dedicated to the wedding, or are you committed to the marriage?” Alright. Let’s begin. Let’s say that you just got engaged and your mind is all over the place about wedding details.
Are you going to be dedicated to the wedding, or are you committed to the marriage? You’ve been going out with your groom to be for quite some time and you see he is spending lots and lots of money every time you’re out. Are you going to be dedicated to the wedding, or will you be committed to the marriage and ask him, “are your bills being paid?” Alright. Let’s go to question 3. The brides have been talking with their friends, and you’re thinking about all the different bridal shows you can go to. Are you going to be dedicated to the wedding, or are you committed to the marriage and actually limit yourself on how many you can attend?
Let’s move on to question four. This one is going to be a doozy. You find out that your fiancé has not been paying his rent. Are you dedicated to the wedding, or will you committed to the marriage and ask him, “If you are not taking care of your own finances, what am I supposed to expect for a marriage?”
Alright. Question 5. You and your family are now shopping for wedding dresses, and you have this dress in mind that you want regardless of the price. Are you dedicated to the wedding, or will you be committed to the marriage and stay within budget?
Ok, let’s go to question 6 which is going to be even bigger than the last one. Get ready.
Three days before you are walking down the isle, you find out that your fiancé is in debt. Are you dedicated to the wedding and ignore it, or are you going to be committed to the marriage and say, “We need to have a talk right now and let’s lay everything out on the table.”
Brides to be and grooms if you’re watching this, let’s be honest. We all know that money is one of the top reasons for divorce. Yes, some of you might not have discussed money, but listen. You can talk about money now, before you walk down the isle, find out what is being brought to the marriage. I am Dr. Taffy Wagner, you’re money and marriage advocate. I want you to subscribe to this channel on YouTube. It’s money and marriage. How about that? Email me, leave comments, and definitely send this video to all of the brides you know. Brides to be, newly engaged, they might not even be planning their wedding yet. It can benefit everyone. I encourage you to go to
www.moneytalkmatters.com and grab your copy of Money Talk Before the Commitment Walk and The Debt Stops at the Alter which is a pre-marital, financial, educational program you can complete in the privacy and comfort of your own home. So let me ask you again. How did that list turn out? Did you have more dedications than commitments? If you did, you might want to rethink what you’re doing. So are dedicated to the wedding, or will you be committed to the marriage?
Bye for now.
